Powered by PACCAR PX-7 or PX-9 diesel engines (as well as Cummins B6.7N and L9 natural gas options), the New Peterbilt Model 548 produces 260–380 HP and up to 1,250 lb.-ft. of torque. Paired with the PACCAR TX-8 8-speed automatic transmission for smooth shifting and up to 5% improved fuel economy, it supports steer axle ratings up to 20,000 lbs and rear axles up to 46,000 lbs with a total GVWR up to 66,000 lbs.
