What to Know About CVSA Brake Safety Week 2026

As part of CVSA’s Operation Airbrake Program, two brake safety enforcement campaigns will take place in 2026:

• CVSA Brake Safety Week: August 23-29, 2026
• One unannounced, one-day brake safety enforcement initiative, which may occur at any time during the year.

During both campaigns, certified commercial motor vehicle inspectors conduct comprehensive brake system inspections on large trucks and buses throughout North America. Their goal is to identify brake-related violations before they contribute to crashes, vehicle failures, or unsafe operating conditions.
