The zero-emission New Peterbilt Model 520EV is built for commercial and residential refuse collection with proven low-cab forward (LCF) versatility. Featuring a signature custom EV grille, door badges, low step height, and pre-installed frame brackets for seamless side-loader or rear-loader body integration, it delivers maximum route productivity with zero tailpipe emissions. Available in all four driving configurations: Left-Hand Drive, Right-Hand Drive, Dual Drive, and Right-Hand Stand-Up.
Powered by a tandem e-Axle powertrain with two-speed gearing and 2:1 hub reduction, the Model 520EV produces up to 670 HP (500 kW) with a 66,000 lb GCWR. Equipped with a 650V battery architecture delivering an estimated daily range of 80–120 miles (handling up to 1,100 bin pickups on a single charge), it supports minimum charge times as fast as 3 hours and 3-stage adjustable regenerative braking to extend brake life and energy recovery.
Built for driver efficiency, the 520EV cab features an enhanced digital gauge cluster displaying real-time power output, battery state-of-charge, auxiliary power usage, and diagnostic indicators. Ergonomic controls, dash-mounted regenerative brake switches, and low cab entry help operators handle grueling stop-and-go refuse routes with ease.
